Mini Alarm system

I'm the new owner of 2013 MCS and wondering if it has an alarm system. I checked the VIN with all the equipment, and nothing about an alarm? Don't all Mini's come with an alarm system if you have the key fob to lock the car?

Also when you lock the car with the key fob, isn't there a way to have the horn beep to know you've locked it? My lights flash but can't seem to program it to beep through the stalk set up menu.

What gives?

the alarm siren is an option not all minis have it.

You need to use NCS expert to code the car to sound the horn when locking.

The 2013 wasn't prewired for the alarm. But it can be added just take more work as you have to add the wiring and alarm kit, then code the car.

Is there any ballpark as to how much the dealer programming would cost if one elects to retrofit with the OEM kit?

Manual or auto gear box? If it's a manual, you don't need an alarm. Just put in into 1st and set the hand brake when you park it.

Thanks. I just spat my coffee out. What's your email so I can forward you my housekeeping invoice?

Manual transmission. I want the alarm so it can scream at suv's that tap me on accident.
