Broken foglight plug

OK. My heavy hand broke the plug changing a fog light bulb. Can I just get a new one from the parts store, even though it's shaped a little different, and crimp terminal it on? Or will this cause bulb errors? Thanks

Fixed it with a new plug housing from BMW.
