2002 R50 - Bluetooth OBD2 + android - Cannot connect to ECU

Hey everyone. 2002 R50, does it use a special OBD protocol?

So I purchased 2 different OBD2 readers, and tested them on other cars.
Both worked no problem on a chevy and a hyundai. (see picture)

Programs Used
Torque Pro (1.5 &1.8)
Dash Command
OBD Car Doctor

Resets used
Disconnect battery for 30+min
Reset Android devices
Unpaired and repaired OBD devices
Changed settings in individual apps

Torque Settings used
non-accelerated data
ELM327 slow down (for if having issues)

On all the programs, it cannot find the OBD protocol. Torque loops, then gives up. OBD doctor loops forever, and Dash command just errors.

On a final note, I also did a R50 ECU reset using the trip counter and still no luck.

Same problem.

Did you ever get a fix for this?

This might not be applicable at all to the OBD2 adapters shown in the first post, but from my work with other vehicles, I know that there are many OBD2 adapters being sold that use a bad copy/clone of the ELM327 chip.
