Electrical Has anyone used the BMWhat app for iPhone to successfully code there car?

I think I know the answer, but it's speculative:
Since I had to have a new radio installed under warranty about a month ago, I'll bet my R58 now has the latest and greatest datens from BMW. I'm wondering if the Carly app isn't quite up-to-date on that, and that's why it can't find my FRM module? Sounds like in the NCS Expert side of things, if your datens aren't as new as the firmware on the car, modules won't appear properly.
I've reached out to the Carly people and informed them of this, so hopefully there'll be an update to the app soon with the latest datens. If not, I'll be trying an OBDII cable and learning NCS!
Thanks again for the help, all!

Got the app yesterday and coded the fog lights to be on with the high beams and the 5 blink turn signals.
Tried to do the mirror tilt when in reverse, but must have missed something as it didn't work. Will check into that.
Must say that the developers are sure responsive. Sent them a question yesterday and had a response today.

Dumb question, but when a person removes the fog lamp bulb check with the Carly app, is it supposed to remove the upper park lamp bulb check as well? I ask because my car keeps checking for the upper park lamps, and I've got LEDs in there. It's annoying to say the least.
Perhaps I should try the fog lamp bulb check again? Turn it back on, and then shut it off? Ideas?

I did email them a while ago, and they said they would only consider that if enough people asked for it. I also don't have the app - w/o the ability to do rear fogs it's not attractive to me.

Speaking of things to change by software, do you think there would be interest in removing the bass filter from the radio's programming?

This is one I would like to see done for this app.

I know most of the discussion here is on the Carly iOS app, but am asking here in case there are similarities between this and the Android app. My car is a 2012 R56 Cooper S LCI, Euro build.
I am using the Android app (free, will not upgrade until I am sure that it does what I want it to do), and the Carly Gen2 Bluetooth adaptor. Actually I first tested the app with a cheapo generic Bluetooth adaptor from Ebay that I already had and it connected right up BUT it did not identify my engine. So functions like battery registration were not available. That was what I originally wanted the app for.
I thought that it was a problem with the generic adaptor so ordered the official one from Carly. Makes no difference whatsoever.
The app says if the engine cannot be identified, to send a session log with a note to that effect. Well I keep sending the session log from the app to Parvis at Carly (sent at least 4 times) and while replies have been fast, he has not answered anything at all. He alternates between telling me to create a Diagnosis file and to send that, and after that he sends some cut and paste answer about the faults shown which I already told him I dont care about. Then I send him the session log again and it all repeats. Its getting silly.
So, what I want to ask is did anyone have problems with Carly identifying their R56 LCI engine and how did it work out in the end ? Out of frustration, I downloaded and paid for another Android app Carista, which was less than half the price of Carly. The interesting thing is that Carista, while much less functional than Carly, seems to connect fine with my engine. I cleared error codes, tested some basic coding with Carista on window settings and lights and it works. But I still need to register my battery so I would really like Carly to work.

Guess I will just have to drop any ideas of using Carly for now.

I did the same thing with the windows and sunroof with Carista . Also changed the number of indicator flashes during lane changes to 4. Tried to make the side mirror dip when in reverse gear and autofold but it doesn't seem to work.
I am now trying to get the side lights or fog lamps to work as DRLs. Managed to get the side lights to come on, but only together with the rear lights. Still trying to find a setting that activates only the side lights at the front.
Strangely enough, the functions that did work took a day to start functioning, initially no changes I made worked after coding and I thought it was a total failure.
