I want to put components in the door. I don't really see room for the crossover. There are only two speaker wire inputs for the wiring plug. Has anyone worked around this without drilling the door. If you put the crossover in the door where and did you have problems with it rattling?

There's room for the crossover just to the rear of the woofer on the door. The door card has room for it. Many (including myself) have placed them there. Heavy duty double stick tape or velcro holds it in place - I've had no problems with it rattling.

A few people on this forum have run new speaker cable through the door loom. When I looked at it, I decided it was too much work so I used the stock wiring, tapping it from behind the head unit location.

rear of the woofer? Im already having to put a spacer to get it to fit. Did you do it yourself? Velcro?? Really? I was worried about black snot holding but, if your using velcro it shouldn't be a problem. Thanks scooterboy.

Just to clarify - when I say "to the rear of the woofer", I mean mounted rearward of the woofer (carwise), on the same surface that the woofer is mounted to. Does that make sense? Here's a picture of where I mounted mine:

Oh, and make sure you use "heavy duty" velcro. The adhesive is much stronger.

I was planning on using that black tar... I had no idea that the door had that much room between the speaker and the door panel.

Also, when you used that spacer and crossover did you have to get longer plugs for the bottom of the door or what?

I ran my own wiring through the factory molex and it was not fun at all. I would not recommend it if you are not running high end equipment. First you have to unbolt the cover for the wiring and then slide it forward to get it loose, then pull it all out. You just drill from one side through to the other. It will take a long time to do. The result is great, since it looks factory, but like I said, not worth it if you are not running High dollar equipment.

Not sure I know what you mean by "plugs", but even with the spacer and crossover installed the door card snapped right back on with no modification at all. There's room behind that door card - I swear it!
