help - headlight wire for Fog light hook up

I had a bookmark where someone spliced into the red headlight wire under the hood to run power when hooking up their LED fog lights.

I lost it when due to computer issues and cannot find the link that show the picture of the wire's location.

I have used the search function and cannot find the one I am looking for.

Would someone maybe the originator of that post please repost it for me.

Thks

My 2010 doesn't have any red wires going to the headlight (non-xenon). At the connector for the left headlight, I have a white wire with green stripe going to the low beam, a yellow wire with blue stripe for the high beam, a blue wire with yellow stripe for the turn signal and a brown wire for ground. If you're just looking for a constant 12v source you can get that at the large red wire going into the back of the under hood fuse box.

to Ammodave - thanks for the info. I have everything read to go except for figuring out the power source and your info will help me in deciding what power source to use. Thanks again.

When I added my oem fog lamps, I got my power from the under hood fuse box. I used the left side low beam to trigger a relay so the fog lights would only be available when the low beams were on and I put a Hella rocker switch inside on the left knee bolster in the position normally occupied by the oem driving light switch. Good luck.
