Best Bluetooth OBD Device?

Choosing between several options. Any input from people who have one or more of these is greatly appreciated. Will be using Torque on my Nexus to monitor.
OBDLink MX $150

OBDLink Bluetooth $120

PLX Kiwi 2 $120?

Might like this one if it was available yet, but the v2 (adds a USB port so the same dongle can feed your phone or your laptop) is not out in Bluetooth, only WiFi, and that means my phone would be disconnected from data, so no go.

The MX touts automatic shutdown to not drain your battery so you can leave it plugged in, but the updates to the cheaper Bluetooth model seem to incorporate a sleep mode too.

Looked at the $15 pieces on Fleabay, but they all seem to have complaints about not always working and having really really slow data.

If there are better options, link 'em up please. :)

I ahve been using this one :ELM327 Bluetooth OBD-II Wireless Transceiver Dongle ...with the Torque download on my Android phone. so far I have had no issues with it and it easily changes between the 4 different vehicles I have used it on.

Me too! I have the same set-up in UK.

I use it to keep an eye on boost + input temps but the 3rd dial is essential IMO - coolant temperature.

Only grouch? No oil pressure info available from the MINI OBD...

I'm using plx bluetooth, no problem.

I have a question, I always off and on plx devices when I drive.
First run engine then turn on plx, turn off plx then shut down engine.
What is I always leave plx on condition?
Battery consumption etc...

I have the OBD LINK MX, and use Torque and it is BOSS. Its a lot better than the $25 units (I've have both) because it can handle the i/o of displaying 6 or so gauges in real time. I use a NEXUS 7 to display or my phone in a pinch. Works great, you can leave it in all the time and it wont drain your battery.

I am new to the Mini world and do not yet have my mini. It is in the process of being built. Can anyone tell me if the vehicle comes standard with the receptical to plug in the obd2 dongle or any of the other models? It would be convenient to monitor some of the gauges as well as be able to troubleshoot the vehicle codes.

Yes the OBDII port is standard. It's under the drivers side of the dash.

Just got mine from ebay this week. I've only played with it for a few minutes but it seems to work just fine.

Is the ODB Link small enough that you don't hit it when you are going for the clutch? I have one of the cheap $25 units and works fine except for being delayed. My issues is its great for diagnostics but I keep kicking the thing if I drive with it because its so long!

Bumping this to see if anyone has any current input regarding. Ideally looking for something that will connect to both iOS and Android. Thanks.
