Electrical Installing Yellow HID Fogs, LED Running Lights on R60
I did coding to remove the auto off with high beams, and the cold diagnostics for canbus check, but never found a combination that didn't die (or not color match). After dumping probably a couple hundred in ballasts and bulbs I just said screw it.
But yeah, that is EXACTLY what I'm thinking regarding the Cree element/sink.
Looking at part diagrams, the housing has a plastic carrier to allow for adjustment, so if a round chunk of aluminum can be milled to fit, and probably require welding or milling some mounting tabs, that's all that would be required. You can get the parts from LEDSupply.com and build some wicked lamps that throw out a ton of light. For that matter, you can put a chip for your parking lights, and another (or two or three) for your fogs.
Now, if I could only mill aluminum.........I smell a kickstarter.

I installed the DDM Tuning HID kit today and now, not only am I throwing codes, but the lights actually TURN OFF after the codes pop up. Not a happy camper! Just ordered DDM's error code eliminators.
