First, they probably won't know what you are talking about.

Second, if they do, I would be very surprised if they agree to do it. Those things are there to protect them from lawsuits.

I doubt any dealer would do these things for you. Those are items specific to the country where the cars are sold and are only configurable because BMW/MINI has to conform to umpteen countries' standards. Your best bet is to find a local MINI club or enthusiast with NCS Expert and make a new friend.

On my MINI, the seat belt chime is the least intrusive of any car I've owned. It dings once when the car is started and that's it. Many other cars will nag you every 30 seconds so it's impossible to sit in a standing-still car without having the things constantly remind you.

hello everyone - wow, great thing I found this post how did I miss it all this time!
The best feature I think listed is the autounlock-on-key-removal!

Does anybody know of a retailer that sells the cable needed, that isn't ebay style? Just curious if by now the slightly more professional vendors offer it...

The dealer doesn't have the ability to change these features. We do offer this service at any of the MINI events we attend like MOTD, AMVIV,MTTS, and so on.

Try to find someone in your area that will do it. Also, don't tell the dealer. They really don't like it when you tell them that you were mucking around in the ECU.

Is there a specific cable required for a 2010 Clubbie S? Is there software that is compatible with a Mac?

Just a random point, but if you're ever doing coding and it looks like your changes aren't taking effect, make sure you are using the right profile (i.e. FSW PSW MAN, whatever is appropriate). I lost tons of time wondering why stuff wasn't working, heh.

And NCS works great for most retrofits! You could easily use it for IBOC, bluetooth (like I did), fog lights, MFSW, and many others.

I am I reading this right? You used *only* NCS expert to get your Bluetooth retrofit programmed and working?

I found in this thread that this cable is what mini owners are buying to use NCS Expert:
http://bit.ly/BmwInpaKcanCable

but I also see references in this thread to EDIABAS, so do I also need to purchase this additional cable?

I've got the "BMW INPA K+CAN" cable. I've got everything (diagnostics, programming, etc.) working with it and haven't had any problems. I purchased mine from eBay, but I'm sure that they're all the same thing.

So as far as NCS expert is concerned, would there be a difference between the r56 and r55? Just wondering...

Thanks for the speedy reply. I ordered the cable this morning. Need to load WIN7 on my MacBook to get started once the cable arrives. Is there a pdf to follow all the steps? Seems to be just fragment floating on this site....

The INPA that I have installed, v5.00, does not appear to show me the airbag error or allow me to clear it. Is there something that I am missing? INPA is working correctly on my 2007 R56, by the way.

I was never able to get the version of INPA shown on NAM to work with my MCS. I had to install the full diagnostic suite to get that functionality, but once I did, it works perfectly. I can diagnose errors, troubleshoot sensors, reset errors, etc.

juchong,

What software package do I need to install to get this functionality? Available in this or other threads? Can you point me to a site to purchase this? Thanks!

GeoffreyM, are you saying it's definitely there from experience or from what you have read?

You might have to look in the BimmerForums, but you can find it all online. It took me a while, but I finally rolled all of it into a single package myself.

You're looking for a VMware image of BMW DIS, specifically the English version. I have V57, which might be a bit outdated, but it works!
