Bypassing HK amp in 06 mini conv sport
I want to bypass the hk amp to install a stereo that has its own amp. I know the hk amp is supposed to be full range. Am I likely to blow the tweets if I run jumpers past the hk amp? Or is there some way I can just tie into the existing amp. Also, I have been told the hk amp is under the passenger seat so removing the seat I assume is required. Lord I miss the days when all you needed was a flat head screwdriver and a cresent wrench to fix everything in your car.

Because of the roof mechanism, the HK amp is relocated to under the passenger seat in convertibles.
The HK amp receives full range signals but crossovers are built into the amp and it does not send full range to the speakers (the HK speakers have no crossovers). To upgrade, you should replace the amp and all of the speakers at the same time.
