I see its been a while since one of these were posted, so lets see what year MC/MCS you have, how many miles and what issues you've had.

I just got a 2010 MCS with 61k on it.

09 S, 57K, had my first issue just last week, a small coolant leak. It was the thermo housing and water pipe.

176,000. No serious problems. Then I decided to build a motor. Shouldn't have touched it.

Just purchased a 2011 MCS MT with 68k. Got CEL P1030 One time, P0087 the one that comes up every time and got P306F after pushing it when P0087 came on. I'm about to replace everything major fuel system minus rail and injectors (dont think injectors go bad but if i have i will hope not) (HPFP, Fuel Filter Fuel Pump) and do all the maintenance (brakes/MT Fluid/Oil Filter Change, ect.

2008 MCS - had ~68000 miles on it.
around 55k Replaced cracked Thermostat Housing myself,
around 49k warranty covered Chain Tensioner.
~ 60000 Turbo Oil Line was starting to get loose at the top.

2011 MCS - has ~32000 miles on it no issues yet.

The turbo oil line is supposed to be loose at the neck of the fitting/bang bolt on both ends, there's a rubber O-ring in there that allows movement so it doesn't snap in two when the engine jolts when upshifting hard.

It starts leaking when the rubber o-rings starts to disintegrate so unless it's squirting oil out it's fine.

And driving the Optima is like... well just shoot me.. If it's anything like my wife's Sportage SX, it goes, but that's all I can say about it.
Vague, floaty, unfun... Oh and her's has been in the shop for more repairs and recalls than I can count... The paint is peeling off the roof rack and Kia says it isn't a problem...

I'll take the MINI any day...

Not to change THE THREAD..BUT When the "o" ring goes bad you need to replace the line? or just the ring? well the "o" ring is pretty small so I'm guessing the whole line needs to be changed? Anyone How difficult the change?

I just want to get into a car and work with absolute minimal repairs within 45,000 miles...08' Optima 120,000 miles and my god so far less repairs than this damn Mini...only comparing the repairs...Paint who cares...if it runs with minimal repairs is all I want...BMW Ultimate driving Machine...I think Not!!

Sold my mother's R56S six speed at 85k miles, only issue was the tensioner backing out in a parking lot (very lucky it happened at idle), after which I torqued it correctly and it never budged. It needed a new thermostat and fuel pump, and more oil than most are used to (not me, air cooled 911 owner, ha), but it was dead reliable otherwise and returned 30+ mpg.

It did have the upper oil line leak, but the new owner didn't care and had already read about it. I want a non-N14 S as a daily, I miss that car.
