EBay XENON HID Halo Projector Headlights

There is a vendor on ebay selling Xenon HID Halo projector headlights on ebay. I realize there are quite a few different vendors selling multiple versions of these lights, but what makes this different is that these are Xenon/HID. Has anyone purchased these lights?

Seller is Kazespeed and the exact search description is
"XENON HID 02-05 MINI COOPER HALO PROJECTOR HEAD LIGHTS"

Feedback on this would be appreciated.

I emailed them asking what type of bulbs they take, they take size H1 xenons?

Anyone care to explain to me whats the difference between H1 xenons vs the regular projector d2s?

Johnny G. To find the item its seller ID kazespeed. Type in Cooper Xenon HID Projector . . .. they're $349.99 + $49.99 shipping.

I had asked the seller question of whether these were true Xenons with projectors lighting . . . similar to what OEM minis have or whether they were simply the non HID versions sold with an HID kit. This seller also sells the halogen versions . . . and with halogens you can update to HID using an inexpensive HID kit $125.00 typically.

If either of you buy it . . .let me know what you get.

I happen to have one of those inexpensive HID kits and I'm simply using it on my OEM projector Halogens . . . .I hear people complain about the lighting, but I have same kit on my pathfinder with no complains. I'll keep this thread updated with my results.

This has been discussed many times. Search...

In a nutshell, they are just halogen lights with rebased HID bulbs in them. OEM xenons are meant for a D2S xenon bulb, which has a housing that is specifically meant for that bulb. The ebay ones will have the wrong dimensions internally (because its meant for a halogen bulb). You will get hot spots, uneven lighting, and a lack of width that you will get in an OEM xenon set. Just buy the OEM lights, and keep your eyes open. They can be had cheap if you look in the right places.

You'd get better results with the 02-04 oem xenons over the ebay ones. They work about the same as the 05+, just look different. 05+ is slightly better light. It all comes down to function or looks.

I SCREWED UP!!!

Didn't read the posts prior to purchasing from Kazespeed on E-bay. I called them and tried to cancel the order. The tech support assured me that if I aim them properly I will be very nicely satisfied. I queried what if I didn't like them. He offered a full refund if I'm not satisfied. I guess I'll install them and see. I'm VERY cautious after reading these posts, though. I should just send them back but if they work well....I guess it can't hurt to try them.

I installed HID H7 bulbs on my Mini. I had to cut the "reflector?" at the end of the original bulb's position as the HID bulbs are much longer than the length of the "reflector".

I see much much better at night and although it it not good as OEM xenon headlight housing it is an improvement. Here is a pic, good luck, it's a very easy installation which I did myself.

When i pass cars with "HID kits" i dont even bother to flash my highs at them because i know theyll just get jollies from highbeaming me back. get a picture of the light shining on a wall, lets see if there are any hotspots.

I got spooked by the majority of the posts here and on other threads and returned the lights for credit. Instead I just kept the OEMs and installed the brightstar bulbs on high and low.

buy some real ones (oem). there are a couple on ebay right now mostly pre 05 models.. there is one that just came up from an 05-06 for $180.

i sold my old set to someone on here for about $300. they had halogen, plugged in my xenons and they fired right up. despite what everyone has said, they didnt need any reprogramming
