I believe it's in the trunk on the right hand side (Hifi amp being on the left) Can anyone provide any more details? Cost for parts, etc.

You need the Adobe SVG Viewer. For me, it works on Internet Explorer but not Firefox.

Looks like I would also need a new rear panel to get the HD radio unit to fit. I have NAVI with the HIFI option. The left panel is flat to allow space for the Amp, so the cubby was moved to the right side. I now need a flat panel on the right to allow the retrofit of the HD unit. :( Anyone want to trade?

Retrofit?

I have an 08 Cooper S that didn't come with HD from the dealer. They wanted $1600 for parts and labor to put one in, which seems a bit excessive. Is it possible to get the parts and then DIY install? I know there was some mention of having to program the internal computer, and figured that the DICE units for the 1st gen minis wouldn't work. I really don't want to have the unit hanging off the aux input or deal with a secondary display/input cluttering up the car.

feasible?

I went ahead to order the parts and did the install myself. The parts can be ordered for about $800 or so from Morristown MINI in NJ. Install is really easy and everything bolts up as it should. One thing to watch out for is to make sure you have the correct rear carpeted panel. The one to accomodate the HD tuner is the flat panel. If yours has a cubby space, then you need to swap it out. Here's a diagram for what I am referring to:

I just need to find a dealer that will program it so I can hook it up. All wiring is present. Damagi, was that Northwest MINI that quoted you $1600 for the retrofit? Were they confident that they could do the software programming?
