Terminal 30g_f:
The following switch-off and switch-on conditions apply to the relay terminal 30g-f:

Cutout conditions:

• Reception of the message ”Signal off”.
  After 5 minutes, relay terminal 30g-f is switched off.
• The battery status is continuously read out and evaluated in the engine control module. If the starting capability of the vehicle battery is insufficient, the relay is also switched off.
• Data interchange on the buses for 10 minutes after deactivation of terminal 30g without a switch-on condition.
• Vehicle is 'wakened' 20 times after deactivation of terminal 30g without a switch-on condition.

Switch-on conditions:
When the relay terminal 30g-f is switched off, it can only by switched on again with defined conditions required for switch-on.
Conditions required for switch-on for relay terminal 30g-f:

• Unlock vehicle
• Opening the luggage compartment lid / bonnet or door
• Switching on terminal R

The junction box electronics (JBE) monitor the closed-circuit current when the vehicle is at a standstill. The following faults can be detected:

• Unauthorized waking operations on the bus systems
• Control modules that keep the bus systems continuously active (inhibit ”sleep”)

Can anyone interpret the cut-out conditions for 30g_f fuses for me? Will it basically stay on overnight after I leave and lock the doors as long as the battery power is adequate? What is the "signal off" message?

Fuse for rear license plate lights?
 

Managed I think to short the rear lights for the license plate. Now dead! Any idea if this is fused??

did you remove the boot handle? does the hatch release button work? i busted my boot handle's wiring harness plug during a prior install after too aggressive dremeling. i ended up buying a new boot handle.

I notice that the rear cigar socket is on a 20amp fuse, but uses a 1.5mm wire. From the research I have gathered, a 1.5mm wire is equal to a 16awg wire. The highest rated fuse for a 16awg wire is only 7.5 amps. Why would there be a 20 amp fuse on this circuit???:confused:

Interesting question. According to charts (such as this), 1.5 mm diameter is between 14awg and 15awg, and that corresponds to approximately 10 amp maximum recommended fuse size. The front and rear cigarette sockets are in parallel on the same fuse so I guess they chose 20A fuse to handle two sockets each running 10A. However a 20A fuse really wouldn't be safe because you can draw 20A from one socket without blowing the fuse and possibly overheat the wire.

hmmm, maybe we should put a 10A fuse in? i'm never going to be drawing 10A out of both sockets at once.

I was wondering about the color codes of the wires and went looking the following is from a web site for BMW and it works for the Mini and I was able to use the line coming out for the alarm system to provide power for the garage door opener now off my visor and inside the the dash with a switch right behind the cigarette lighter.

The fuse info is nice, but it is interesting that none is marked 'headlights' or 'parking lights' I need to tie me gauge lights into a switched wire that is not dimmed, as they are LED's. Can anyone help?

F10 is a good switched hit, as odds are no phone... at least I didn't have one.

if you need a delayed off... F2 works well.
