12th Annual MINICooperIowa Fall Tour -- Oct 4th

All systems are "go" for Saturday.
Weather looks to be cool and dry, very autumn-like. According to "those guys" on the networks, the fall colors should be peaking.
GMRS/FRS radios will be tuned to Channel 7, Subchannel 0 (just Ch. 7 for those who don't have subchannel capability).
Fuel prices are at bargain lows. Bonus.

Looks like Anamosa has their Annual PumpkinFest going on this Saturday.

Shouldn't be an impact on the restaurants as the pumpkin-goers will be attacking the downtown food tents.

Oh and that thermostat? It looks like a mechanical heart! I opted to do it myself (which was a back breaker) to save a few coins. But if I was out of town, I would have had them do it as well I suppose.
I'm glad to hear everything is in order and your MINI is back on the road!

With the Garmin I have electronic gauges and watch the temps. Funny with the new thermostat it runs about 7* warmer on the highway ( up to 230* on a hard run up a hill)and cools down somewhat after getting into town. The temps seem to be more consistent, and the fan runs after engine shut down more. All the electronic temp controls must have been out of whack .

I now have a gadget I keep plugged into my OBD port and an app on my android -Torque (free) - that I can monitor my temps and a bunch of other stuff.

That was a really fun trip. I had been telling Angel all day that I wanted to run across a random Mini while we were out on our run. That I wanted to see the look on there face as so many Minis passed them with everyone waving. Then at the Interpretive center we notice we were heavy by one Light Coffee Countryman. One of there friends had told them about a large group of Minis at Caseys filling up. They went online and looked us up. They found this thread, and went to the interpretive center to check out our wonderful cars. They were very nice and loved to talk about there Mini. It was an anniversary gift for each other

Thanks for all of the pics Dave and Angel...lots to choose from!

(One in there just for you, Jeff... )
It was great meeting all of the new folks who came out to join us, as well as all of our CIMC friends who made the trek over to participate. Hope everyone had an enjoyable day despite the chilly temps.
The unexpected, ad hoc invitation to join the car show when we arrived in Maquoketa was certainly an added bonus!

I missed out on the carshow action. Angel's Parents invited us to supper since we were in town.
