Gosh, I would think a MINI gathering would be ample justification for a continuance. We'd be lost without our chief Girl Scout and her side-kick!

 

Jury duty over. Don't have to report on Monday!!! I think I'll buy a lottery ticket. . See you all on Thursday. (Some on Wed).

 

 

My email overnight included one from the K Bar S Lodge confirming my stay. That, along with the blue skies this morning, really upped the getting-psyched factor for our Stampede.

I'm doing one or two things to Gwaihir right now and have the front body work completely disassembled. Sure hope I can remember how to put it all back together by Thursday!

 

I was just checking google and don't see any car wash's in Keystone or Hill City. Rapid City and Custer are the only ones I can find. Is this a mission for Gary? Mine is clean now but probably won't be once we get to Keystone.

 

I'm on it.

There were two in Hill City the last time we visited. It would be nice to find something in town, for certain. Car washing is just as important as eating and sleeping.

 

Hi Peg, thanks for your offer for Laura and I, but we won't get home from work till early evening. Then we'll pack the Mini have to make the drive to your town. We'll just hotel it and meet ya'll at your door step thursday morning. You wouldn't happen to know a good suggestion for a near by hotel/motel would you?

 

If your just looking for a place to sleep there is a Settle Inn at the Lake Manawa exit #3 (its a Marriott property). Its nothing fancy but I think its clean or a Microtel on I-29 north across from the Ameristar Casino.

I didn't get a confirmation number when I reserved and I didn't get an email reminder! I panicked a little. Then I called to double check and whew, we are good! Only three more day!!

 

Heard back from the Keystone Chamber of Commerce. The closest car wash appears to be the one in Hill City. ~15 min drive from Keystone.

 

But thats a great road to have to take to get the car washed.

 

I just looked at the forecast for Keystone and they are suggesting for Thursday SNOW and a high of 41. Friday looks a little better.

 

Here's the latest Keystone forecast from Accuweather (attached). Glad we're not arriving tomorrow, they're actually expecting a bit of accumulating snow! Suspect it will have disappeared by the time we roll in...

 

According to The Weather Channel app on my phone Keystone SD is under a Winter Storm Warning from 6:00 pm today (Wednesday) to Noon Thursday. 5 to 8 inches of snow. Then 59 degrees for Friday. And we thought Iowa weather was crazy!
I love a good driving challenge!!!!

 

Yep, though it's warm enough that the roads should be okay by the time we arrive. I'm glad this isn't happening one day later!
