Swamp Fox Parade in Marion
 

Hello All...

Just got our registration application in the mail for this years Swamp Fox Parade in Marion, Iowa. It will be September 10th meeting up (for last minute detailing) at the car wash in South Marion at the intersection of Grand Ave and South 11th Street. Arrival should be 8:30 AM or sooner if you want to use the wash. Any and all "Bling" everybody has will be appreciated to make our MINI's stand out even more.

This year's Princess will be Tessa, daughter of our own David "Smokin' Jo".

This year we are going to do something different after the parade... I know you all like the home made pie and ice cream in the square; but this year Pam and I will be hosting all the MINI's and owners at our house afterwards for something to eat, drink and that all important "homemade" pie and ice cream. :thumbsup:

Just submitted our registration for 13 MINI's. After the parade, we will go immediately to our house for lunch, pie and ice cream. Hope we have a super day!

I'm geared up for this! Haven't been "on the road" in a while. It will be good to let the horses run. I'll do a trim detail Friday night. BTW Any good roads for my return trip home?

For those of you planning a return trip from our house to your house after lunch, our address is 4175 Creekview Dr. in Marion. GPS's are pretty popular as well as Internet mapping. We are close to business 151, highway 151/13 on the East side of Marion.

Just woke with a terribly sore throat, not going to make this one. Got up early to clean the car and instead Im takings meds and going back to sleep :(

Larry and Pam, we can't thank you enough for your generous hospitality today. :thumbsup: The food and fellowship was first rate, and the MINIs sure looked good out in front of the house. And of course, kudos to Larry for the smooth organization and planning once again. Can't think of a better way to enjoy such fabulous weather.

It was a pleasure to have both of you. Tessa made an excellent Princess. Send me your address via private email and I'll mail the "deconstructed" banner to you.

Ask Pelle again, so many of us have grown fond of her radio chatter over several events; we could all bring our radios and she could narrate the parade as we go. I think it would really be a nice twist to what we do in EIM. :thumbsup:

As always the parade was a highlight in our Mini adventures , went through 1500 tootsie rolls and still was a little short. Thanks Pam and Larry for lunch - Penni and I had a great time and go Cyclones.

I was in that parade too!
 

Wow! Its a small, small world! I was in the Swamp Fox parade this year too! I was in the Marion Chapter group of the American Legion Riders, a motorcycle group. It may be tough deciding who to go with if you all do this again this year. :impatient:
