8th Annual Iowa Fall MINI Tour 10-09-10
 

The 8th Annual Iowa Fall MINI Tour will be held on Saturday, October 9. This is a MINI Cooper Iowa event (affectionately referred to as the “Yahoo MINIs”). All EIM folks are cordially invited to attend. A full day of fun is scheduled, beginning with lunch in Fairfiled at 11:00. You can lock in the address for the Pizza Ranch at: 1103 West Burlington Avenue ,Fairfield, IA 52556. MINI friends will travel an enjoyable route though the countryside, enjoying the fall colors and stopping at several locations for pictures and fall fun. The annual adventure will conclude with dinner at Honey Creek Resort at Rathbun Lake.

Free MINI buttons are available. Just send me a picture of your MINI and tell me how many buttons you want.

See you in Fairfield on October 9!

Thanks Daryl. Many of us know that you've been the principal planner of this "all Iowa" autumn MINI event for every one of the 8 years of its existence -- practically since the first of the "new" MINIs began plying the Midwestern twisties.

We appreciate your service to everyone, your continual contributions to EIM, and your unflagging MINI esprit de corps! :thumbsup:

Unfortunately I think I have used up my quota of, "Oh, sorry, I can't come. I have a MINI event that day." for the year. :sad: And I think they are figuring out that I'm not really "sorry"!:sly:

Two Week Reminder
 

The 8th Annual Iowa Fall MINI Tour starts off in Fairfield at 11:00 (in the back room of the Pizza Ranch :). We'll wind our way through the countryside, enjoying the sights and sounds of the Fall Festival in the villages of Van Buren County and make some fun stops as we head for Honey Creek Resort.

11:00 Fairfield. If you have time before lunch, check out the HUGE mural on the side of the Sondhiem Art Center, downtown at 200 North Main. Lunch at 11:00 in the private MINI room at the Pizza Ranch: 1103 West Burlington Avenue.
11:50 Head out on our Fall Adventure, the 8th Annual!
12:15 Stockport Youngest of the Villages of Van Buren County (1902).
12:35 Bonapart “Smallest Main Street” community in the U.S. Be alert for horses and buggies! You are supposed to ask permission before photographing the Amish.
12:45 -1:05 Bentonsport Our first stop. We’ll try for a picture on the 1882 bridge and/or near the 1885 church.
1:25-2:25 Keosauqua State Park. Lets hope for great fall colors! The Buckskinner’s Rendezvous will be fun, too.
3:00-4:00 Eldon. The folks at the American Gothic House are expecting us!
Spirited driving alert after we cross the river!
4:30 Drakesville The only town in the world with this name. Devon, at the Quick Time convenience store, is expecting us to make a rest stop here.
4:50 Moravia There is a BP station just outside of town. We will briefly stop here.
5:15 Honey Creek State Park. Enjoy the colors by the lake
6:00 Dinner at Honey Creek Resort

I wish I could attend this one, but we will be leaving on a 1632 mile trip in a 27 foot uhaul trailer.

I sure hope it's not a one-way trip...

Nope, not a one way trip. We are taking the rest of britney's mom's stuff to her in arizona city. We will drive down and I will fly back on wednesday, britney is going to fly back sunday

I Can't Deside On What Mini To Take Saturday There Both Fun,i Grew Up In This Area Of Iowa So I Have Family And Friends Showing Up At The Gothic House And Yes The Roads Are Awesome See Ya All Soon
