Flood isnt all that bad. Its big right by the river but not much else is affected. I went down to the res last night and it's certainly full but still under control I think. We'll see I guess.

^^ Lol at my assumption of it not getting too out of control.

In any case week later still no word on when Walt will be completed. Quite frustrating really..not the dealers fault so much as Safelites for not getting their act together..I guess all in all I'd say avoid Safelite for your autoglass needs..I know I will in the future...

Probably good advice for Safelite franchises in geographic areas where MINIs are not too common.

I can just about imagine the scene when the "trained" Safelite techs showed up to replace your windshield. I envision one of the guys getting out of their truck and exclaiming, "Lookie there Enos, it's one of them there Smarty cars!"

Safelite has agreed to pay for complete restoration to factory standards on the MINI We also asked that they not touch the car anymore and just let the dealership do everything.

They werent quite sure when it'd be done, I am hoping maybe by the fourth of July when we have to go up to Chicago anyways for the Taste of Chicago event, if they have it done then it'd be fantastic timing since we are staying in Naperville that weekend..if its not done, we'll probably stop in an visit poor old Walt at the dealership. It's very sad to be MINIless..:( :( We miss our little Walt very much...

Carpets are on back order from Germany so he is still torn apart. Was in Naperville this weekend and stopped in to see Walt...outside he looks as good as ever, but his innards are missing completely. Poor little car has almost no dash, no seats, and no carpet inside currently. Carpets should be in sometime within the next week or so, I am guessing we'll have him back mid July which pretty sad since that will be over a month of not having him around :(

Walt has gone through a lot. I think we should have a "Welcome Back Walt" party when he returns. Seeing some of his MINI relatives would make him feel better.

^^I'm sure it would make him feel better When we get him back we'll let you all know as we'll be in some major need of motoring once he returns.
