Cold weather charging

We recently got a 2023 Cooper SE. When charging in the colder temps of winter we get noticeably less predicted range, probably a combination of more drag from snow tires and charging in cold weather. I have heard of Preconditioning (heating the interior of car while charging) of mini SE is supposed to increase battery range when charging outside in cold winter temps.

Has anyone tried this? Can I set the SE to precondition during charging either from car control panel or from the app?

Some EVs have battery heaters because warming the cabin doesn't increase range very much. The MINI Cooper SE's battery gets warmer when charging, so there's perhaps a small benefit if you drive away before the battery is fully charged when the battery begins cooling again.
