Randy: There's obviously a limit to the number of pulley installs you can do per weekend; what is a number you're comfortable with, and how many are signed up so far? Cincinnati is a do-able 4.5 hours away from Detroit , and if you're down with adding another install to the list, I'll be there!

Also--> has anyone volunteered to pick Randy up at the airport?

Cheers,
Ryan

Great stuff, consider me "IN"
Mike (or Randy), where exactly is the meet/install going to be taking place? (so I can book a hotel)

Randy already has all my info

Mike, perhaps posting a list of everyone who's "IN" on the install will help, then we can help everyone setup a schedule of-sorts.

Cheers,
Ryan

Some of you have asked about spending the night in Cincinnati. The pulley install garage is No. Cincinnati right off I 71 near KIng's Island.I live, and Randy will be staying,in a condo in Covinton Ky..This is 20 miles south of the install, but right on the river in our entertainment district.
Plenty of bars and retaurants within blocks. The Reds are playing the Phillys Friday and Saturday nights and Sunday afternoon. It's a short walk to the statium. The Embassy Suite and Marriott Riverfront are within 2 blocks of my place.Within a mile are the Marriott Courtyard,Holiday Inn,Hampton Inn,Extended Stay Suites, and Quality Inn all are in Covington Ky. We also have a 150 year old bed and breakfast next door.If you're spending the night for your pulley install, let's enjoy ourselves.

I didn't understand your post Mike, what's the name of the install shop?

Thanks for posting the hotel selection.

OOOH, King's Island is only 30 miles away, hmmmm, anyone up for a little roller-coasting!?

Cheers,
Ryan

Hey there Randy et al,
What was the limit and have we reached it? I'm thinking I could drive down from Cleveland. Please let me know if there's still space.

Thanks in advance

Also, Cincy is the home of the Valentine 1 for those seeking double protection, an Escort and a V-1 should make your return trip a little more comfortable.

I would like to organize an excursion to King's Island during the install weekend (June 13-15, btw). I'm open for suggestions on which day and time and stuff, post here or shoot me a PM.

I've been wanting to ride The Beast for a very long time, this looks like an excellent opportunity, with the garage about 5 minutes away from King's Island!

Cheers,
Ryan

Who's signed up for the group so far? Mike, do you have a listing?
Check out the Pulley Party at Renntech for pics and gossip about how Randy's Florida Pulley install went. Over 20 installs, wow!

Cheers,
Ryan

Drop me a PM. I'm on the fence but if I have all the info I can mull it over till the bitter end.

Mid-Ohio High Speed Driving school this weekend!! I'm so psyched. It'll make for a good baseline for my butt dyno to compare other mods.

Thanks,
Jim

Jim, this pulley mod is an awesome value, at only $20 per horsepower! It's just about impossible to buy any other engine mod that has that great a dollar per horsepower factor.

I've come to understand that during normal driving, the ECU is able to properly adjust the engine's running parameters (fuel delivery mainly) to compensate for the added boost. It's only under WOT (wide open throttle) that the ECU runs on a open loop, meaning that it'll run the engine one way regardless of mods. So realistically, adding the smaller pulley is not a concern with the rumored "running rich" ordeal.

Bottom line: Do it! Your butt dyno will love you!
Cheers,
Ryan

Time is getting short. We have 11 or 12 for the Great Southern Ohio Pulley Party.Randy can do, at most,7 pulleys a day.Randy's current schedule is 2 full days here.Unless you can convince Randy to stay another day,we only have room for a couple more cars.
If you are in,please PM Randy and I with your email and phone number. If you're in any doubt, read the glowing reports from Randy's mod session in Florida.

I'd love to join in on this!

My only concern: I pick the new baby MCS up on Saturday (5.24.03), - so, will it be of dire importance to get through the break-in mileage prior?

Please let me know.

I think I could draaag myself through the mileage to get her ready for Randy's little gift.

Golly gee, for $400 & a chance to meet & learn from real moddin' MINI folks, - superb!

Sugar, welcome to MCO! Congrats on your new MCS too!
I don't think the car not being broken-in is a big deal. What will be important is to abide by the no-full-throttle and no over 4500RPM rules.
The pulley is such a great value, and the chance to chat it up with a bunch of MINI-fanatics is great too!

Cheers,
Ryan

Thanks for the welcome mat!

The wife & I had a grand time picking up the MCS on INDY-race weekend! Plenty of admirers and questions.

We're really enjoyin' the MINI community that's invovled here. Really, a fine place to be a part of something.

*Note: The wife has noticed, and loves, the break-in period's effect on my driving. She says I've been a better driver ever since our MCS arrived. Hopefully, I can make that last beyond the initial 1250 miles!

--How do I know if I've been accepted into the So. Ohio Pulley Install?

So do we have 12 including SugarBelly?
I'll PM Scoobs my April Club buddy and see if he's interested (he's in Louisville).

--->Mike; with talk of your dirt all over your MINI, are we going to be havin' clean pavement facilaties at your "location"? My Mr. Motor is gonna be irate if he has to touch dirt

...and people, think about King's Island. We'll worry about details later.

Cheers,
Ryan

My "dirt' is mud on new subdivision streets. The install garage location isn't too bad as most of the houses have been built.I have a hose you can use,but you'll have to pay me a dime for the water. Mike
