What happens when the FPR vacuum line comes off?
 

While driving around yesterday I saw my boost guage drop to 0psi and would not move.

I pulled over to discover the line going to the FPR (Fuel Pressure Regulator) had blown off, the factory boost guage is spliced in between here.

I drove the short >1mile back to my house and zip tied the hose tight on the regulator.

I was just curious if anyone knew what effect a disconnected FPR would have? I didnt see any check engine lights or feel any negative effects but not to say the thing wasnt running lean as could be either.

I lost this line once, and the car went into limp mode (scarily, in traffic). It restarted but with the SES light on. I eventually discovered it, but it was intermittent until found. I don't think it -hurt- the car meanwhile.

Your FPR will vary the fuel pressure depending on absolute pressure. I believe it is on a 1:1. However as long as you are not going 100% throttle and your car is warmed up you will be in closed loop. And you will be reading off you o2 sensors and your computer will correct for a disconnected FPR.

However if you go boosting then you are going to go way lean.

Cooll, I kinda thought that was the case, just wanted to know what it would do just for knowledge sake.
