Dyno tests do not tell the entire story and the one they tell is not particularly useful. MTH or anyone else for that matter can show tremendous gains on a dyno by using some programming tricks. The key to a good remap is drivability as well as increased power and reliability. Please keep that in mind when playing with the a/f ratio.

i just found a black one on ebay . i have had a difficult time locating one in my area because they stopped making them. now they have a new one that gost an arm and a leg and really doesnt do much more than look better (i still the the older one looks awesome)
anyway i wanted the black one because i figured the silver and blue wouldlook strange in the inside of the car. anyway since the black one was limited it was even harder to find one.

there are a few vendors on ebay that sell them for like 250 i got mine for 221.00 shipped.

Its a stand alone fuel controller
I already know all that... maybe i should have phrased the question better (Dr. O understood, though). Basically i wanted to ask if you can run both safely. i.e. with advanced ignition timing and an AFR of roughly 12 across the rev-range at WOT. Is the knock sensor good enough? Is it too risky? I think what i might end up doing is checking my AFR on the dyno with my MTH as it is atm, and see how rich its running, and then make up my mind

Yes...you can use both and i recommend it....I have the MTH tuner n my dyno run was ALL over the place and even MTH themselves said they couldnt fix it which pissed me off after showing them my dyno run. So im installing mine soon to fix what he couldnt help me with.

Thx...what AFRs are you running across the entire rev-range (at WOT that is)?

Also, that "blown piston" you mention in your sig, that wasn't due to you running MTH + SAFC was it ?
