Denso IK's

I wonder what is the difference between IK22 and IK24? I have some friends with Evo's and STI's and they run with IK24's. It's colder than IK22 but what happens if the spark plug is too cold?

fouling. Don't do it

They run colder plugs most likely cos they run more boost than us

Has anybody who used the IK24 sparkplugs had any problems? I'm thinking of making a switch because everytime I step outside of my car, I can smell fuel, indicating to me that it's running very rich.

If youre running rich, you need an ECU mod, not new plugs...

hmm, maybe ur ECU is retarding timing and hence not combusting the fuel as well as it could. A new ECU map will fix that prob, the IK24s won't help IMO. What fuel are you running?

I am running them now. 'Course I live in a furnace, aka Arizona. I haven't had them long, so I haven't put on enough miles to talk about fouling. I also run a 15% and 2% alta pulley setup.

hey mate,

hehe i live in a furnace too, although not 24/7. I live in Aus, i'm fitting a 17% pulley on tues, along with IK22s, and i've got the Alta CAI and mines a JB/JB too

I'm running 93 octane and I'm in Texas. I figure the colder plugs would at least help with the higher ambient temps.
