I'm about to go GIAC and 19% any problems?

Before I take the plunge I want some feedback/input from GIAC users. Could you guys post?

Ethereal Jan 21, 2005 05:14 PM

Well i don't have GIAC and 19%, i dont even have a MINI. But from what i've read about it, it's recommended that you upgrade your stock injectors for larger ones (Helix sells 380cc) at the same time of the pulley and GIAC upgrade.

No no! It's not recommended - IT'S A MUST! REALLY - it's part of the package. You CANNOT get the GIAC for the 19% WITHOUT the injectors. The GIAC is tuned for the larger injectors and it's a package deal - you can't buy one without the other (19% GIAC & injectors).

You know there's no problems, SpiderX, just suck it up and get it done. Then you'll wonder how you ever thought this was a cool car without it!

Being that I have a hard time following most post around here, can you all tell me where this system can be had? Is there a web site or something?

Thanks

whoops, well then... SpiderX just do it and enjoy Helix's work after the install

*edit* there is one problem i'm sure you'll have... keeping traction

Try this one:

http://www.giacusa.com/dealers.php?d...ull_intstall=1

There is a link to find dealers in your area that can perform the upgrade.

I have the injectors on order from Eric

Man I'm going to have to get more into the technical side of moding this car.

When I saw the thread title, I though this was going to be about some GMAC Financing Rip-off place wanting to charge 19%

Off to study the MTH thread

Since you're in the east, I recommend making a trip to Helix in Philly.

I'm taking the trip to helix soon for this mod, Thanx greatgro.
I had my 15% pulley fitted by Eric at Helix over 30,000 miles ago. It's time for another reduccion.

I have a suggestion - carry an extra belt with you if you're going to do any DE's... We changed one in the paddock this weekend, the prior belt being nearly new just grenaded on the back straight. Luckily, the owner had the foresight to bring some spares along...

Actually, this advice goes for anyone doing any DE's regardless of their pulley choice (and even for MC's). Bring an extra serpentine belt! We had two failures this weekend at the track - the 19% pulley car and a 15% pulley car, neither with high mileage on the belts. Just stick it in your spares box...

TonyB Jan 24, 2005 11:23 AM

Well, I've seen it used in "HPDE" which is a High Performance Driving Event. So, that would be my deduction
