Brake Pads... again...

Starting to research brake pads again... Last year, I replaced my factory brake pads with a set of EBC Red Stuff pads, and I have been mostly happy with them. They have good bite, easy to modulate from street speeds, and I haven't once had them fade on me. I don't race, but I drive with spirit, and the car sees a lot of highway travel.

Now, while I have been mostly happy with the Red Stuff pads, I have not been happy with the dusting. They are supposed to be a "Low" dust option. While they ARE lower dust that the OEM pads, I wouldn't necessarily call them "Low" dust pads.

Is there another option that provide a similar performance level of friction, but also provides even less dust on the wheels?

Akebono Pads are very low dusting pads. Can't compare since I've not had EBC & Akebono on same car. Just put EBC on my F56 but less than 200 miles so don't know nothing yet. Somewhere along the line EBC changed the pad composition and I wonder if some people are getting old stock vs. new. Might be worth a check with them.

The ones I got should have been newer ones - I bought them from Way Motors.

I might be leaning towards the Akebono pads, but wasn't sure about the performance compared to the EBCs.

I hated the dusting on on Reds as well, and I was overheating them. Switched to Carbotech XP10s in the front and EBC Yellows in the back and both seems to be dusting less than the reds having been on them for a few weeks now. Would not recommend the XP10s for street driving for the faint of heart though, they squeal a lot.

I would not be able to deal with loud pads.
