Pulley Puller
Supercharger Pulley puller, Alta Performance or Cravenspeed? I have heard that the Cravenspeed can slip off when you're using it. I have not heard anything about the Alta.

Is this a question? MiniMania has a pulley puller that they'll loan to you (with a returnable deposit) if you buy their pulley. I did and everything works great!

It is a question, sorry. I'll have to check MiniMania out. Thanks!

Not true unless you do something wrong or maybe had it upside down before you tightened it down. The Cravenspeed puller works great as that is what we use in our shop and what I have used to do about 400 pulleys. It is also the fastest and easiest to use as you don't need to mount a puller on it or remove the tensioner.

I also rented the puller from Mini Mania. No hassles, I got my full deposit refunded. There were no instructions on returning it that I saw, but I emailed them and quickly got an RMA number.
I used a hardware store hose clamp / Jubilee Clip to keep the puller snugged down to the pulley. It took a lot of torque to initially break it loose. Definitely use some anti-seize or grease on the puller threads. |
I have the Cravenspeed. Worked great and I'll never need it again. PM me if you want to grab it for half price.

When I changed the pulley on my R53 to a 15% pulley....I installed the removal tool and also put a large hose clamp around the tool and pulley just for peace of mind when I pulled it off.....may not have been necessary, but I felt a bit better about it

The Alta one needs to have the supercharge off the car from what I’ve heard ... I got the cravenspeed one because I didn’t even have to remove the belt tensioner. It worked amazing and I didn’t have a single issue. I guess it could potentially slip off if you didn’t seat it properly when using it but I had zero issue and will highly recommend the cravenspeed one which I believe is identical to the WMW unit |

Sorry, passed that along a couple years ago. Good luck!

Another happy customer of the Cravenspeed puller here, I can also recommend it
