F56 Belly Pan/Under Engine Cover?

I was driving through snow last night and my under engine cover or splash guard ripped right off.

Has anyone seen any good alternatives to the stock one? I'm sure the mounting locations for the screws are stripped so not sure if I want to order an OEM one at the moment.

I came across this one.

Thoughts?

Thanks. Is it possible to send me install instructions?
I am just concerned if the mounting locations because the original mounting locations are all stripped under my car. Unless this uses entirely new areas.

It uses stock mount points, so you may need to repair those first. The front three, where it attaches to the bumper, uses special c-clip nuts that come with the Rennline shield (or did on my prototype anyway). The rest reuse standard fasteners. I believe you can just order replacement expanding receiving nuts and more screws using the part numbers here:

http://www.realoem.com/bmw/enUS/show...diagId=51_9649

if you are uncertain about identifying the parts yourself, and are near a MINi dealer, just go to the parts desk. They’ll help you determine which and how many you need. I suspect ECS can hook you up with those parts too. Looks like you’d need 7 of part number 6, and 4 of part 7, and 11 hex bolts. (No idea why the diagram says you’d need 27. Maybe that includes the count for other nearby panels.)

I was just going to post up the PDF from rennline, waiting to hear back from them. +1 you can just dump those part #'s, thanks bratling for the help!

The only "bad" thing about them and what has stopped me from buying that is the lack of access panels for the oil filter and drain plug.

With that being said. it could be easily modified. In its current state, it would have to be taken off every time you change the oil.

I’ve got it on my F56 as well. ECStuning is always taking my money

Only takes a couple minutes extra. And if it had cut outs for the oil drain and filter access it would give up a good bit of strength on that side. The protection is worth the trade off to me.

(They could also have designed it with some sort of lock-in-place access panels that retain most of that strength, but then you are adding a lot more complexity, which drives up the cost of making it. There’s always a trade off in design!)

Oh trust me, I bought it. I was just thinking out loud
