Boost Horse Power

I'm expecting my 2019 JCW to arrive in December, I just placed a build last week and I'm already trying to seek advice on how to boost the horse power without voiding the warranty? Any advice would be much appreciated.

The cheapest and good gain is to just add the dinan sport, plus it has the dinan warranty so you don't have to worry about voiding yours.

After that power gets more expensive but I would lean toward a larger intercooler.

Dinan Elite has the warranty coverage, not the Sport.

I assume you want the dealer to do the install to not void any type of warranty clause? Any idea how much horse power it can add to the mini?

~25hp at the wheels .. if youre not up for warranty voiding.. this is your safest option.

I'm not up to losing the warranty considering it's brand new 2019 when it arrives. 25hp still gives a little kick. Once I'm out of warranty I'm sure there is even more options. Thanks so much!

It's the torque increase that matters. I've just done my first 1,000 miles after my dear Dealer installed the Dinan Elite. The chief mechanic indicated his experiences with this solution were positive, so we pulled the trigger.

No regrets, except that the throttle-based wheelspin now has to be managed rather carefully.

The top gear roll-on from 60-90 mph is flat delightful.

Recommended.

Cheers,

Charlie

According to the Dinan site, the Elite yields +45 HP, +55 TQ. All with a warranty.

yeah.. those #'s are not at the wheels. Recent dyno of a club members 3rd gen JCW showed ~25hp and 40nm torque increase on the rollers

Thanks -- good to know. Still not bad gains IMHO. I'm stoked to have mine installed later this Fall.

Is this something I could opt to do from the start or should I put a 1,000-2,000 miles on her first? Do you order the Dinan Elite from the dealer and have them do the install to void losing warranty?

Any idea of what this cost for the Dinan and the install from the dealer? A ball park?

I paid $779 for the Dinan Elite components, and $120 for the installation.

Cheers,

Charlie

You do NOT have to have the dealer install it for warranty. ANYONE can install it. It would only be no warranty if it wasn't installed correctly which frankly is pretty hard to do since it's just a few connectors you plug in and can be done in 15min. Almost anyone can do it.
We keep them in stock as we have been installing them on about every other customers F56 that comes in.

Sorry I own my own shop and $120 to do a 15 min job is far too much. I would be ok with them charging half that as I do understand we need to get paid, but $120 I feel is far too high.

Just noticed Burger has the JB+ for $199, does the same thing as the NM, and DInan Sport!!

Had a JB+ on my R56, never regretted it.

My dealer charged $1,000 for the Elitie "installed day of delivery", but they installed the wrong one (Dinan part # D440-0052) I had to go back 2 months later (car kept stalling) to get the correct one (JCW part # is D440-0056).
So check the part numbers before any of these clowns (being kind here) touch your car.
