I’m going to race it on a 1/4 mile asphalt oval in the 4 cylinder class. Most people run Saturns in that class, I think the Mini should work better then the Saturn. The rules state all glass and lights must be removed and anything flammable from the inside.

not exactly sure what you mean by stand alone ecu? The rules state the engine and computer must be stock and un touched. Only thing you can do is cold air intake and remove converter and muffler. So I know pretty much everyone reprograms there ecu because there is really no way to tell if it’s been messed with.

right now all I did was cut the converter and muffler off and have a straight pipe running out to the side of the car. I also got a cheap universal cold air intake off eBay. The rules state the motor has to be stock or oem parts. The only real thing they check once in a while is compression, total weight, left side weight. So if there are a few things I could do to tweek the motor I’m all for it.

rules say you have to run wheel studs and 1” lug nuts. Those lug nuts would never fit in the lug hole of a aluminum wheel.

You might be able to get more power if you get your hands on some JCW or S fuel injectors, you will still need to get a tune for them and as stated before, Jan at RMW is the guy you want to talk to.
I suppose on the wheel front, you could swap over to studs and lug nuts and drill out the Holies.
