Switched from M7 Tuning Intake to Alta Intake

Just installed my new Alta intake, and I love it. Looks so good and sounds much better than my M7 intake (sorry M7). The previous owner installed the M7 intake in 2010. I needed a replacement filter but decided to go with Alta instead due to all the good reviews I read. Plus, it seems easier to clean (to me). Nothing against M7, but I hope this helps someone out there deciding on an intake. The Alta is a little louder than the M7, as far as the whistling noise some complain about from the Alta intake, I think it sounds pretty cool. If you want a more quite supercharger whine, go with the M7, or stay stock.

That is all

I have the alta intake on mine, and my dad has the M7 on his. I feel like his is louder, and seals out engine temp better than the alta, to each his own I guess. I'm surprised that strut bar fit over the alta intake. Did it take much compressing of the hood insulation?

If you look closely, the strut bar is pressing on the left side of the shroud padding a bit. As far as the hood goes, I wouldn't know, as the strut bar was installed by the previous owner.

Looks good but the M7 is a more efficient design as there little chance of sucking in hot air. I had an Alta setup and went to the M7 and found according to my Scangauge air inlet temps when down. Looks like your having fun.

Is that a Madness strut brace? Did you put it in? Like it? I'm looking at getting the Madness strut bar, along with their lower brace. Also getting their CAI.

Looks to be the OMP (based on the sticker), which is very similar to the Madness. Also I would recommend either modifying your cowl shroud or buying from Madness for the intake, the sound it produces is amazing.

Thanx! I see now it's made by OMP. Putting it on my list. I can't believe how much these braces are, jeez! (lower, strut, rear sway, etc).
