Looks like the same concept as the Tyrol sport version

tia,

This is why I ask about that one. The Tyrol only works on N14 transmissions.

ECSTuning 05-07-2018 07:41 AM

Yep , only works up to 2009 models. My guess is thats the same fitment.

They have another version, supposedly for the earlier transmissions:

I know Tyrol was "Supposed" to be working on an N18 version, but it never materialized. I saw this one available, and thought I'd ask about it.

why is there a difference in +09 R56.. its same trans

Id love one if i could find a solution for a 2012 N14 JCW

ECSTuning 07-10-2018 08:52 AM

They changed the design on the transmission. So the pre 2009 dont fit.

Other options:

cornjuice 07-10-2018 01:29 PM

well now im equally confused..

*the photo on the 4H-tech page shows an N18 motor.. but the linkage in pic on the trans is exactly like my N14JCW..
*their kit is only listed as up to 2010.. then why does it match my 2012?

ECSTuning 07-10-2018 01:44 PM

I dont know, we dont carry them. Alos they are euro so the build dates are much earlier than the US dates for changes in production.

I'm in the uk, I have asked for some user reviews from holland last weekend
No response as yet
Although as I sent a picture with my email it may be sat in their spam box
I Have a day off booked Thursday so I will chase them up via phone.

Jcw n14 r59 sept 2011 build, if it works for me it will for you
Their demo car is a roadster, and they sell 2 kits for r56 platform so I'm sure it's a correct fitment

I Would love a cae but think I would grow to hate the open plan install over time

cornjuice 07-11-2018 07:24 PM

CAE is an amazing product for sure.. but im fine with the OEM stick so long as a product like any of the ones linked, functions to ~30% or better reduction.

I will keep my eyes open for reviews.

*this is also much easier to install vs. something like a CAE or even cravenspeed shifter.

WayMotorWorks 07-11-2018 08:45 PM

I personally run the Craven Short shifter in both my GP and R55 JCW. It is ideal as I can adjust it in the car, but even as the min adjustment the shifter feels more crisp and not sloppy anymore.
