The MINI F5X S-FLO Carbon Intake:

Boasting a carbon fiber heat shield design composed of 3k, 2x2 twill carbon fiber, the MINI F5X S-FLO Carbon Intake delivers a significant dose of respiratory refinement to the 2.0T engine. The engineered design allows high pressure air sourced from the leading edge of the vehicle to stay cool, while also uncorking turbo and diverter valve volume.

Utilizing factory intake and mounting locations and an integrated billet aluminum MAF fitting, the AWE MINI S-FLO is engineered to mate seamlessly to the factory air inlet pipe -- perfect fitment and check engine light-free operation. Guaranteed.

The S-FLO Filter:

Sporting a proprietary design, the AWE S-FLO Filter’s increased flow rate helps to unlock 9 hp and 10 ft-lbs of torque at the crank, and provide a notable increase in throttle response.

The S-FLO Filter is washable and comes pre-oiled.

What’s in the box:

The AWE Tuning F5X S-FLO Carbon Intake includes the carbon fiber airbox, the AWE Tuning S-FLO Filter, and all necessary hardware.

I've had this intake for quite awhile and i can't ride w/out it. it looks so nice and sounds even better. glad i got it. fitment is exactly as they say and the filter is impressively large. fits perfect in the same space as the OEM intake.

Just got mine yesterday. Install was easy, it sounds great and I've noticed a better response on my Dinan Elite equipped F54 S ALL4. To appease the wife, the air "chattering" doesn't seem to be nearly as pronounced in MID or GREEN modes, but in SPORT mode where I live...

Love my intake. Car sounds amazing with it and looks great as well

GPMini 12-07-2017 09:57 PM

The vehicle we had back when we were doing development was equipped with JB4, running map 1.

Also, note that it is crank hp.

You may have to shop around when it does go on sale again. All the usual MINI places were sold out, but I found mine at some tuning shop I've never heard of (Urotuning.com). Short back order time, but got mine in about 1.5 weeks.

When absorbing dyno data, the delta between the two runs is what matters.

The aforementioned modifications are only what got the MINI to the output seen in the first run of the comparison. :)

Was the dyno test done with the bonnet open or closed?

So I am interested in this mod but you alluded to a possible sale at some point. I don't want to be foolish and buy it today and have it on sale in a week or two. I can certainly wait.

Thanks

You may be thinking of our holiday promotion, which ended a month ago. There are no plans of a special pricing in the near future.

Thanks for the reply. I did a search on Google last night, there seems to be some much lower pricing across the board.

Correct. Dealers are allowed to sell under MSRP to a certain extent.

Any chance you guys would make a fully enclosed CF (or other material if CF is too expensive, similar to Armaspeed) filter housing? I don't like the idea of the filter element being exposed to the hot engine bay like this. I know that as soon as you start moving the air gets colder but don't you think that the fully enclosed filter housing would be better? I know that the CF Armaspeed CAI is pretty expensive but what about other materials?

Safe to say this design is here to stay. Also, it is not as exposed as you think. The heat shield covers the filter very well.
