It arrived. I connected it, and it was as easy as claimed.
Seat of the pants, modest torque increase at low RPM … but after 3500rpm RPM, where the factory tune's torque flattens out and power increases slowly, the Dinan-modified torque kicks up again and pulls harder all the way through 5000. Very nice.
Great drivability around town at part throttle, although (of course) there is some increased torque steer when I open it up. Nothing crazy like the Mazdaspeed 3, but it's there. Feels not unlike the R53's mild torque steer.
The Dinan module is to the B46 engine what the 15% pulley is to the R53's supercharged engine. Cheap power, no drama. Recommended without hesitation.
Nope. The Bluetooth app shows boost but doesn't let me change settings. I need to contact Dinan about that to see if it's a known bug or something new. The settings are all disabled. :( The app is completely devoid of help or documentation. I didn't expect a lot but it isn't great.
Dinantronics Sport app on an iPhone 7. Modes disabled, don't yet know why.
At first I thought the map switching didn't work...
The way it works it that you press the desired map at the bottom of the screen then hit the reload/refresh button just above... it will show the psi increase as the map indicator... +3.0 is the Sport+, +4.0 is race map.

For real? The buttons look disabled. What a strange user interface design choice. I'm not impressed. That's not even bad. It's worse than bad; it breaks platform UI conventions and provides unclear feedback.
EDIT: removed some ranting and cursing. Not constructive. My apologies to those who read it.

App has been criticized for this before. I was early user on my BMW 4 series. In the end though you set it and forget it and this is an incredible bang for the buck with no real downside I can find.
I got a reply from them, apparently there is a bug in the IOS app between ios 9 and 10. Their development guys are working thru it now, should be fixed in the next week or so I was told.
Hi guys, today i dowloanded the app and i was Kind of afraid, the peak boost was 24 psi.
I was running in sport mode (+2) psi i'm not an expert But seems to be too much. What about your peak boost guys?? My car is f56 S
Just installed mine. Product works, app is odd as mentioned above with greyed out buttons. Install instructions assume you know how to disconnect the plug without being able to actually put a normal human sized hand on it. Customer telephone support, no answer by live humans, no call backs.
For the next guy, I used needle nosed pliers to squeeze tab while pushing connector apart with screwdriver. Did I miss something much easier? Did I needlessly inflict serious bloodshed on this?

If you have grayed out buttons you have an old version of the iOS app. Update it to the newest one and that will resolve SOME of the clunkiness and confusion.

I installed the Android app yesterday. I see greyed out buttons too at the bottom. And 2 on/off "toggle button" with no explanation of what they do...

yes, I have installed Android version 2.0 of the Dinantronics Sport Tuner app
I just assume when someone mentions grayed out buttons they are referring to the iOS app at this point, my bad. Don't have an Android device so aren't as up to date on those updates. Went down the way to one of the guys and just looked at his Android app and its still has the grayed out buttons so apparently the Android one wasn't updated at the same time (At least not that part of it).
The upper slider toggle turns off/on the boost monitor, and the lower slider toggle turnss off/on the boost settings menu to answer your earlier question though.
I struggled with that connector too. Wish there was a crystal clear online video. I am still not sure how to do it right. A combination of force, a small screwdriver and luck did it.
