JCW PRO Exhaust

Someone asked me to post pictures of the JCW PRO exhaust installation on my F56JCW and I can't remember the thread to locate the request. Therefore, I started this thread.

That's all folks. I highly Recommend G3 Automotive in Raleigh, N.C. Chris is an honest, hardworking, fair-minded guy.

That stock exhaust in the first few pics isn't a JCW exhaust though is it? Maybe off an MCS? The last pic looks like a JCW exhaust. I'm just a little confused. The Pro Exhaust looks cool! You're a bad influence...LOL!

Yes, it is a stock JCW exhaust. I ordered the car in July and picked it up the end of October. That is why I posted them side by side.

Is there a resonator up front on the stock JCW exhaust?

The tips are throwing me off is all...the one pic of the car in the air doesn't look like my JCW tips (yours look rounded).

Original tips are on the PRO exhaust system. I plan to replace them with a set from WAY. It was a bone JCW exhaust as far as I know. I ordered it and other than whomever drove it off the line, etc. I was the first one to drive it. It had 2.0 miles on the odometer when I picked it up.

I really can't answer that as I don't know. I have not been underneath the car to-date. I had Chris Gerber perform the removal and installation. He also took the pictures for me. OK, I checked it out this morning, 2-22-16 and it is a resonator.

So without the flap open, the exhaust relies just on the single side then right? Interesting...not sure I'd like that. I'd probably have the flap open all the time then...LOL!

Thanks for posting up the pics....helps explain how it works better than simply seeing the tips from the rear.

Your guy mixed up the pics is my bet (from another MINI)....no biggie. That one shot of the tips on the car on the lift do not look like F56 JCW tips.

That's some pretty average welding for such an expensive piece.

I notice that you have a 2015, mine is a 2016, there might have been a change in the model years? I don't know for sure.

As long as it works it is fine with me, I don't crawl under the car very often. I don't build pianos either.

No they're the same between years...if you look at pic #3 from the top and the last pic you can see the difference in the tips...my tips look like what you have on the there now....JCW chrome tips. The rear bumper covers are even different between those two pics....not the same car!

You are right, I didn't pay enough attention to it. I asked to photograph the installation and Chris stated he would do it for me and from what I could see I figured he took them with his cell phone. It was one of those things that I didn't really pay enough attention to. I will pop out to the garage and check it out later today! Thanks for your observation.

OK, that's settled....I thought I was going nuts...LOL! Now, go enjoy that popping! You are gonna have fun with that exhaust. Reminds me of the old days when we hot rodders installed cutouts ahead of the muffler's for drag racing! :-)

The one picture with the different tips is from Vetsvette's F56S. He had Chris do his PRO Exhaust as well and that is his car. I will post a few more of the installation on mine as I raised the car today and took some photos. I suppose I should be more observant.

Yep. Notice the difference in the crossmember braces between post #1 3rd picture and post #20 2nd picture. That's my car in the first post with the Big Pair (Cravenspeed) installed. So, Dan, was it worth the trip?

You bet'cha it was and the runs on the Tail, 28, and others was a super bonus. The sound with the valve open is wonderful with all the pops. Totally different than the pops and gurgles on the R56, not better, but throatier and deeper. I love the B48 and the power.

I hope you like your new trick exhaust. I wanted that one but need a much better job to afford it. They have a mini S with the tune kit installed at the dealership in Winston Salem. I'll have to see how much of a difference if at all there is between the sound of our two exhausts. Maybe I'll see you up at VIR someday with Phil Wicks!

Will you be at the MOTD this year? Here is a picture of us with Phil and our R56 JCW at the Carolina Motorsports Park in 2013 with our mini, affectionally dubbed Jenny Cool Wheels. I do miss the little car, but when I drive the F it is worth it!

Can't make it to the the dragon due to work schedule and using my vacation for Mini Takes the States this summer. I love working with Phil Wicks. He helped me shave 8 seconds off my lap times and CMP. I just had to stop being stupid and actually listen to him. My wife was a much better learner and after that track day, she bought a mini too! He is quite brilliant on the track. I've been doing his track days since 2008 up at VIR's south course. Now he has been doing the full course, all great fun with high speeds, but I actually liked the south course version more, more technical to me. I will always though make time for those VIR tack days, should be up there gain this fall I think
