M7 ags - r53

Hi, I am after the M7 fitting instructions for the AGS - Air Gain System (cir 2007).

I have one fitted to my R53, I think it is the Version 3, it was fitted by the previous owner. I am about to convert the aircleaner back to the M7 set up with the carbon heat shield and inspect the AGS tube for rubbing with the thermo fan - It looks like it is rubbing on the alloy and possibly wearing through.

Just to make sure I have all the clips and mounting bits, I am after the original fitting instructions. It was a M7 pdf titled "agshowto.pdf" (M7 don;t have a copy)

Does anyone have a copy that they can send me?

Matthew

I do not have the instructions, but it is incredibly straight forward...
Pull out your bentley manual for putting the vehicle into service mode, follow normal instructions for installing/removing a OEM inlet tube, and just take note of the throttle body mounting differences and you should be golden...

Carbon heat shield

Thanks, I am more worried about the heat shield mounting and angles to get right. Also, I recall something about cutting the water hoses, I just wanted to check it is all correct. Happy to work through it if the PDF is not available, it can not be that hard. All the hard work looks to be in the fabrication of the M7 bits. Thanks for your reply

Thanks to the helpful guys at Custom Mini shop, I have received a copy of two versions of the M7 AGS install instructions. I have attached them to this post if anyone is in need of them (well I think I have!).

Cheers

You have the finest intake system ever designed for an R53.
Not for the faint of heart when it comes to installation.

My 2004 R53 was the development car for most of the M7 designs and had at one time or another versions V1, V2 & V3 running on the car. It still has the original V3 prototype, wherever the car may be today :).

The critical installation point is the green seal between the AGS tube and the supercharger horn, a vacuum leak here will kill the system.

I also experienced the wearing on the alloy tube, eventually a hole about the size of a dime in the tube. The car didn't like that leak one little bit.

You probably know by now that the original document you were looking for was for the V2 model with roto formed synthetic tube, there were always sealing problems with the green gasket. The larger document you found is the correct one for the V3.

Good luck,

Bill
