Spark plug gap
 

Hi all, i just want to verify something, theres a lot of conflicting info regarding what gap to use for the spark plugs...anyway, i gapped my NGK 1 step colder iridium plugs to .31, please let me know if thats fine. On my old car that gap would be too large and would result in the spark being blown out thats why im a little iffy.

the factory plugs for these cars are a 4 prong plug that comes in a cardboard sheath and are pre-gapped (and you cannot re-gap them easily with accuracy even if you wanted too)

as for after market normal plugs.. TBH I do not know if there is a spec.

I would say try it out, if you are getting stuttering in high load, or misfire codes, pull them and try bringing it in a little.

One more bit of info...
A fee folks played around with gap size ( still pretty hard...iridium plugs are brittle and pregapped) but folks that widened the gap with high output coils seemed to have a better idle....

I'm on my second set of NGK BKR7EIX-11 iridium plugs, both sets have been gapped at .44, and my '03S runs like a top. Don't know if those are the same plugs you're running- just my experience.

Yea BRGPA thats what im running. I dont have any issues i was just curious thats all. Damn .44, i thought my .31 was a bit much heh.

So, regarding gap on the one-step-colder plugs.....what gap is the BEST to use? And, I guess does it need to correspond to what COIL you use? OEM? Screamin-Demon? MSD? etc......I've got my plugs in my R53 set to .33 - so, I'm just curious on what gap to really use and I'm using my OEM coil. Anyone?
