Funny that you would ask. Got an email from GFB this morning and they've made a few different brackets for us to try. So we will be getting those soon and we can test on one of our test vehicles. Should know more in the coming weeks.

Ra2fanatic has been testing different brackets on my car. It's a bit of a process with all the pictures and back and forth sending of parts from Australia.

I'm sure one of us will update when a solution is found.

What exactly needs to be changed for the manual N18 cars? I've read the entire thread and perhaps I missed it but unless the portion of the DV that bolts to the car is a lot thicker the whole system (GFB and OEM) looks the same as the OEM dv. What is a bracket needed for?

Compared to the N14, the N18 version is a 2 piece system. The N18 manuals transmission housing is much larger than automatics.

The selection arm swings across (red arrow) and in 5th and 6th gear, would run into the DV.
Blue arrows would be where the 2 hoses connect and there is just no room for them either. The white piece was a CNC'd prototype GFB sent us for mounting and testing and it made no difference in this case. The bracket must be modified that would allow connection between the hoses and not deviate too far from it's harness connection.

GFB was finally able to attain a 6MT in Australia, so they're working on it internally on their end now. More to come later.

Just installed this on my 09 JCW N14. Worked great for 10 miles then no boost.
1/2 power light but no codes??? Took apart to inspect and cannot find anything unusual.
Checked all the obvious stuff; turbo, wastegate, vacuum, boost/pressure test in induction
everything checks out but no boost??? Any thoughts out there?

GFB AU has found a solution. We should have N18 6MT version by early new year (at least that is what I've been told).

No definitive answer just yet about existing DV+ automatic versions as to whether they can be switched to 6MT versions or if they will be completely separate products from each other.

I am having the same exact issue on my n18. It happens intermittently then goes away after some driving. Sometimes I get the half power mode, other times not and you see the loss or slow build up of boost. I pulled it out and am running the OEM diverter. All is well again. I inspected the GFB and saw nothing out of the ordinary. Not sure what's up with it. The only thing I can think is the brass piston is getting stuck but who knows.

Yes. I did the first time I installed. Took it out to oil again about a month or so ago thinking it was the issue but no dice.

This is concerning! Having to pull the DV to keep it oiled isn't something I'd look forward to considering how fun they are to get at in the first place. Hopefully a cause is found. Perhaps you really can't build a better mousetrap.

I don't believe it needs to be oiled regularly. I was just checking it at the time and re-oiled as precaution.

I would like to retract this ^ The issue appeared again after a while on the stock diverter. It turns out I may have a bad wastegate actuator. Going to pull it out this weekend. My appoligies to anyone who may have been swayed away from buying the product. It is a solid unit and will be installing it again.

So are the N18 manual transmission GFB DV+ for sale yet? I'm reading comments elsewhere that they are but I'm not sure if they know there was an issue with these fitting manual tranny cars.

The 6MT version of the DV+ for N18 owners is not available still. Having finally gotten word from GFB directly the 6MT version will be slightly different than the automatic versions, so those that have an auto and intend to sell down the line are stuck with selling to only automatic and manual guys, the same.

This is due to the space restrictions found in the manuals. GFB AU is still waiting on prototype components, hence the current holdup on it's release. They've been waiting on these parts since Dec so I'll continue to update when I find out more details.

As soon as I get more details and a future beta piece, I will share more details to all.

Cheers,

BT

I reached out to GFB and apparently they can't get their hands on a n18 manual car in Australia. :( I'm about to just buy one and figure out my own mount.

You will sadly be disappointed when you can't figure out the mounting point. I'm surprised a solution hasn't been announced. Crazy.

shift linkage for a manual will hit the solenoid with the current auto bracket so I think they are making a new bracket for manual folks.

I noticed my boost stays alot higher during shifts, so a nice mod.

Just want to pass a good message for the excellent customer service by GFB. I purchased a new DV+ Unit but during my install I noticed that one of the unit was missing some small parts. It was likely the U.S. dealer's fault but GFB in Aus step up and DHL the missing part to me directly. It was shipped within hours after my first email. I was hoping to maybe get a reply the next day but GFB answered me quickly. I'm very happy with their finish of their DV+ T9353. I can't wait to finish the last part of the install on Tuesday when the parts should arrive.
