Hey folks! Apologies as I've been reading this thread intermittently as I can from a phone so I'm sure I've overlooked a great deal. I'm curious about the folks that are running the upgraded KO4 JM turbos with the Manic maps. Between the GT Dominator and the extreme 45 which one seems to be the choice du jour? I'll be making the step into this arena soon driving an ALL4 JCW. Looking to get any feedback I can aside from what I've read around the web. Thanks in advance.

Maybe someone can chime in that's running a GTD. I haven't seen a compressor map for one. So I crunched some numbers from the compressor map of the E45R, the AFR and timing I've seen reported by those running map C with water/meth or race fuel and come up with the following.

The E45R should be moving a little less than 37 lbs.min at 28 psi and generate 340 - 350BHP or right at 300 HP to the wheel. That's pushing the turbo to the 65% island on the map. If the GTD compressor map is similar to the GT2860RS it's designed to compete against then you can add about another 30 - 40 HP to those numbers. Your big bottle neck at these levels will be the exhaust manifold and the KO4 turbine housing.

Just keep in mind that while the compressor inducer is 47mm and 45mm between the two, the compressor exducers are the same size at 56mm. In addition the turbine inducers on both are the same size at 50mm but the turbine exducer on the GTD is 44m as opposed to 42 on the E45R. What this means is that the GTD will be slower to spool but perform better at high RPM. But even at that it will still spool a damn site better than a Garrett kit.

28psi?? WOW who's running that? Highest I've seen Nick set any boost is 1.6 bar or 23.20 psi.

No one that I'm aware of. I was referring to the capabilities of the turbo as opposed to the tune. Plus you need an engine that can handle making it before Nick could tune it.

There is someone on the countryman FB page claiming to be putting out almost 28 psi. I think I posted the photo somewhere in this thread...

if he has a scan gauge2, they default to reporting "absolute pressure" instead of "boost pressure"

boost = absolute - barometric pressure

28 is an interesting number

28 inch of Hg = 13.75 psi

When I did a 2nd cat and resonator delete , I used 2.25" pipe. Worked perfect.

Saw where someone referenced that you could remove the ECU and send it someplace to get this tune done... am curious as to how hard it is to remove the ECU? Where to send it? How long it typically takes to get back? And any of those kinds of questions. I'm in Illinois and the closet place is 13 hrs away and as much fun a road trip seems... may just be easier to send it and wait.

Not hard at all. Unbolt the plastic cover, release the 3 plugs, release 2 tabs, slide it out. You can ship it out to a dealer to have it flashed. Not sure of the timeline as the first part of the tune is copying your stock file and having it altered with the tune. I would think at least a 2-3 days but don't quote me on that.

+1

Unplugged mine, sent it to Mariokart, and within a couple days I was shredding rubber... I will tell you, the tune is amazing. Been in Map B for a week now due to work and all, but I'm looking forward to upping the tune to Map C at every moment... It's nostalgic... Find a tuner And make this happen. My recommendation has been stated above.....
✌️

Everyone should at least give in to a Stage 1 Manic tune! Then pay the upgrade price as you mod your vehicle for an updated tune. You will not regret it! I promise you that!
I'd love to see more of you guys with completely transformed vehicles. And would share videos on Manic USA Facebook page for us to all see it!

G3 Automotive Solutions in Raleigh is where I will be getting mine done. They are just waiting the flashing equipment to arrive.

I asked this question a while ago and wondering if anything has changed. For those of us with extended warranties ( not worried about the warranty) if we send our ECU in for flashing ( closest Manic dealer is 300 plus miles away) and at some point in the future the car needs to go into the dealer who then reflash's a factory update of some type, is there a reflash fee from Manic or warranty for this of some type? is Manic developing a remote flash method over a broadband connection ? I don't want to spend $500 plus and have the reflash thing happen.
