Picked these up from Randy this morning and had them installed today at Bimmerhaus. They also aligned and corner weighted the car

Kudos! You are now among the 1% of coilover owners who actually have your cars corner balanced.

Those look nice and VERY easily adjustable!

Very nice CM! I'm envious and happy at the ame time...

So, what did she weigh? When time permits, share some photos installed. Enjoy!

2,680 1/4 tank of gas, before I got in the car. 60/40 weight distribution. I didn't write down the individual corner weights - it was a long day!

Looks like a nice setup but could you make the picture a tad larger so I can see it on my 60" wide screen TV, It;s just an inch to small to fit the whole screen

Understood. A long day, but I'm sure well worth it! Randy hooked you up with what many would call the best suspension goodies. Look forward to hearing your impressions on the track...

Very . Couple of questions-
What else do you have on your car to make it 2600+ lbs?
Do the Ledas have their own upper mounts or do you use the stock Cooper bits?

I am thinking of going STS and if I do Randy will be my first call for the Ledas- once I get back from my Uncle Sam's sponsored desert vacation.

I thought 2685 was pretty close to stock. I've added a roll bar and have a one-ball muffler. Didn't weigh the Stoptech's, but I have lightweight wheels on the car (SSR comps). Car wasn't completely cleaned out, miscellaneous stuff inthe glove box and the boot.

Nice set up man

What exactly is corner balancing and how is it done?

Also, like Rye said, are those the new camber plates Randy was working on?

The camber plates are RDR's.
Corner weighting is a way to balance the weight distriution of the car by adjusting the ride height of the coil-overs. The car is put on four scales, you set the initial ride height by eye, or tape measure, then fine tune the weight on each corner by raising or lowering each corner of the car.

not quite; the goal is to make the diagonal weights equal by adjusting the spring perches. The only way to change individual wheel weight, or LS vs RS, or F vs R, is by moving ballast around.

it is done with scales under each wheel and on an level base and the ride height approximately where you want it: think of it this way...if you were to back off the spring perches on each end of only one diagonal, the car would eventually balance on the other diagonal and rock on that axis like a four legged table with one short leg. You would then have 0 lbs for one diagonal weight and the entire car weight for the other. The idea is to adjust until each diagonal weight is the same.

It should be done with a driver's weight in the driver's seat and about 1/2 tank gas. every time you do the spring adjustment, you have to roll off the scales, access the spring perchs and turn them on opposite ends of the diagonal you are setting, roll back on the scales to make sure tire scrub is eliminated and see what you get.

ColoradoMark,

Thanks for the pics and post. What are you going to do with this setup? Autocross solo 2 and solo 1?
Track events? Let us know how your MINI drives on the street. Why did you get the rollbar (solo 1?)?
Let us know how the setup works for you on the track or at Solo 2.

Should be great.
Cost of the suspension upgrades? Parts and labor?
Cost of the rollbar? Parts and labor?
Aloha

Autocross, open tracks days and time trials. Rollbar not required for any of these, but nice to have.

Costs: Jeeze do you tell people how much your MINI costs?
Cost: Rollbar ~500 plus install
Suspension: Parts ~$3000 Install ~$500

Mark, this is the first chance I have had to look this up...you should show the shot of the front with the Stoptech front brakes.

Having been there in person while this was going on, I can say it was educational as well as a good time. Mark, thanks for inviting me along to see it all go down.

cheers
jon

Glad you came. They were great at the track this weekend. A little bit of rubbing on the fender liners. I either need to raise the car a bit or add more camber. It was fun spanking an SVT Cobra Mustang (and not a stock one at that).
