R56 exhaust on R53

I'm planning on putting lower diffuser tunnels on my R53 and obviously need to change to a straight exhaust. I'm thinking of the Alta one with the 3" pipe. Anyone have any suggestions? I don't really want my car to sound ricey but more of a mid-ranged to lower exhaust note.

Any suggestions are appreciated

There is a decent thread somewhere here that goes into really good detail on doing this. From memory droning and noise levels were a big issue. Even when using a stock R56 cat back. The turbo on the R56 does a lot to quiet it down. Unless your car is turbo or 300hp the 3" is only going to make it extremely loud and not add any power.

Thanks for the reply! I've decided to get some powertone mufflers and get the exhaust custom made at a local body shop

Group4 Auto makes a straight exhaust for the R53 that doesn't require any modifications to the battery box. But I haven't heard any sound clips yet and don't know whether it'll drone or not.

I think I've seen a few pics on a forum somewhere. They said it won't scrape on speed bumps but someone mentioned that it does, especially since his car was lowered.
