I felt the loss of low end pull as soon as I installed my intake. I'd rather have the low end rather than the tiny increase in top end. The new panel filter is working well.

I talked to NM engineering and they told me to stay with my cone filter because with their tune the filter would flow better to get a little bit more juice out of her. So I guess I will stay with what I got.

Madmaxxed,
How has the aFe dry filter been treating you? I am in the market for that specific one. How's is the low end power now? Obviously it is better than the open filter's.

Mine's been on a year'ish now. Runs great, low end is roughly the same as stock paper, definitely better than the cone filters. I can get some torque steer if I really wanted to fairly easily. Something I couldn't do w/ the DDM RIS as easily, even with Sport on (which it always is).

Exactly one reason why I went back to stock. I lost a pretty good amount of low end with my cone filter. I only wanted the sound but now I'm interested in gaining power put down when I get my tune.

I've ordered filters on ebay before. Here's this one...

http://www.ebay.com/itm/AFE-31-10174-OER-PRO-DRY-S-AIR-FILTER-FOR-MINI-COOPER-S-COUNTRYMAN-S-1-6L-TURBO-/281022499876?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item416e3f0c24&vxp=mtr

^^
Free shipping, that's always nice. But don't ever get anything else off of ebay engine wise or suspension wise.

Blanket statements like this are so ignorant.
eBay is not a BRAND it's a channel for people to get their products out. "Don't buy other things from ebay" makes no sense. Lots of very good quality companies have ebay accounts and you can find all the same name brand suspension, engine, stereo, wheel etc. components on ebay sometimes cheaper than anywhere else. Why rule out 1 shopping choice that could save you money from time to time just because of all the junk brands that ALSO sell on ebay?

If anything, tell people to pay a bit more for quality brands that back their products rather than knock offs. Don't discredit ebay as a whole. That makes absolutely zero sense.

Sorry my experience wasn't like yours. Maybe I should have said which seller NOT to buy from.
