Vibra-Technics upper motor mount does a great job dampening vibrations

As you can see by the mess left behind, my stock upper motor mount took a 💦💩💦 so I decided to go all out and purchase the Vibra-Technics mount. It arrived yesterday and I immediately installed it. I chose the road version for my 06 MCS (MIN906M) and I am very happy with it 👍👍! Yes it is more expensive than other mounts but it was either buy another stock mount knowing it'll fail again or buy the TSW mount and have a noticeable increase in vibration (NHV). The VT mount gives you performance and durability while still providing very good vibration dampening. It does such a good job that even though it isn't broken in yet, I am already pleased with the way it feels. It is more expensive than other mounts but in this case you definitely get what you pay for!

How was the installation? Pretty straightforward?

I was told that the vip engine damper can not go on this motor mount. why? from the looks of it, it seems it would work. do you happen to know?

Installation was easy and once you've done it once it would be easy to do it again in under an hour. Just make sure to have the right tools then follow the instructions that have been posted on this forum. I decided to remove my passenger tire and the wheel well to make access to the lower mount bolt easier. I also removed the motor mount bracket to get the old mount out and the new one in so I would just be able to support the motor rather than having to lift the motor. I did end up lifting the motor but very little. There are different ways to do this but this was what I went with and it seemed pretty easy and straightforward.

I'm loving this upper mount so much that I just ordered the VT lower torque link from Colin. I'll give another report once I receive it and have a chance to test the combo out. I'm curious to see the difference I'll feel from just have the upper to having both the upper and lower mount.

Thanks Colin!

Got my mount from Colin. Will install soon. I will compare with TSW and OEM.

The mount looks great!

I am not a wrench by any means. I have never changed an engine mount. I was able to do it in about an hour with basic tools.

We have an early build 04 MCS and are very happy with Colin's service and the VT mounts

Any update on the combo? I just purchased both the upper and lower yesterday for my MCS. My upper mount is shot and I figured I might as well change them both out. I eyeballed the gearbox mount too from VT, but it was pretty pricey and wasn't sure how much more added benefit switching that out would be.
