It would plug into the pump if that is what it's for. You can see it in your pic. It's attached to the same mount the blue O2 sensor plug is mounted to.
Here is a link with some great shots of one. The site's protected so I couldn't just post the pics here.
Whoever has this bov, have you been getting boost issues? lately when shifting from 1 to 2 or 2 to 3 while cruising, boost doesnt want to build. i dont know if the bov is getting stuck or is venting but its kind of annoying. like previously stated, the resistor is taped in the harness so i don't think thats the problem. everything looks plugged in and tight. dont know whats cutting the boost ??
Just drove to the Dragon from Boston and back. 2000 miles round trip plus several hundred miles down there. Beat the snot out of it on the Dragon. No issues thus far.
We can sell this part now, we are working on a solution where you don't have to use a resistor. If you are OK with using a resistor though, we can sell you guys one right now! Just give me a call and I can set you up with one.
I just installed mine today...great upgrade! Shifting is improved a great deal, and the throttle response seems better. It's a lot easier to drive in traffic with Sport Mode on, as John(Alta) stated. If anyone comes up with a good resister seal solution, post it up, I'm giving it some thought as well. Really happy with the way this part performs I'm currently running Stage 1 FMIC 92 octane.
It's been a couple months since anyone has posted in this thread. For those of you who have these installed, how are they holding up? Pros/Cons? What have you noticed in tis unit compared to the stock diverter over time? I'm seriously thinking about pulling the trigger on one of these suckers as it seems like the most practical attempt at an aftermarket diverter of the ones on the market (though technically this isn't on the market yet I presume). Any updated info would be great.
I've been using mine for about three months now, it's performed flawlessly. I'm currently running it with Stage 1 FMIC. I'm super happy with the way the JCW is performing
Well after reading this thread (a few times) and everything else I could find I took the plunge, called Chris, and placed my order for one of these beauties. Looking forward to the upgrade!
I read through all the posts but I'm still confused about two things. Is this replacing the stock BPV, and what does this do that the Alta stiffer spring for the stock unit wouldn't do?
Jeff is actually working on a blog post right now about this. This part being discussed is not an actual BOV that vents to the atmosphere. It's actually a replacement for the factory diverter. The new valve recirculates the air the same as the factory part, but has a reinforced diaphragm and is controlled by vacuum to react quicker and be more reliable.
The ALTA spring is not compatible with this part, that only works with the factory valve.
