Drivetrain (Cooper S) MINI Cooper S (R53) intakes, exhausts, pulleys, headers, throttle bodies, and any other modifications to the Cooper S drivetrain.

Drivetrain Does the b&m shfter only lower the hieght of the shifter?

If so, i will just cut my shifter to my likings. I do like the fact that the b&m shifter comes with bushings though...

If you do a search you will find all that you ask. First off the shifter handle is shorter the lower arm below the pivot is longer. The bushings, 5 total 4 are for mounting the shifter and are solid aluminum. They do not come into contact with the moving parts ie pivot ball or shaft. The fifth bushing goes into the side leaver and is nylon just like the OEM one. I have no idea why they even include it. The shifter shaft is very robust much more so than the OEM, all stainless steel. This is a very nice Mod IMO and totaly changes the feel of the shifter. Please take the time to search, the path is well worn........ norm
