When you say "boot cover" you mean the tan plastic dust cover right? If so, it is removed because the SS extends downward past the cover. I had the Helix SS installed by Erik when he came to Hawaii for our pulley party. Do you still need photos? If no one posts, I can take photos tomorrow and post for you.

I have just had the Helix short shifter installed. The shifting action is not only shorter but more sure. Before I would occasionally put the car into reverse instead of first but this is now nearly impossible to mistake. I like it a lot

The speed shop that did the install (they were doing the pulley for me too) confirmed that the area underneath is extremely well protected already with the long heat shield.

Cheers

I did the Rogue short shifter which is very similar to the Helix. Straightforward install, as I installed the Milltek cat back at the same time so I already had the exhaust removed for access. The heat shield appears to offer sufficient protection.

bleecker,

I forgot about the heatshield! I just jacked-up the car and crawled under to take some shots for you but you can't see the area of concern because the heatshield that OzMini and SynergyONE refers to completely covers it. Sorry but I don't want to take-on removing the exhaust portion and heat shield for the photo.

I have this installed and it works great. The complaints I have are:

1. 6th is a bit sticky now but may just need to work in a bit

2. Since the cover plate will no longer fit I have extra road noise.

Other than that the throw is great.

Maybe the cover can be modified a bit , a small hole is better than a huge hole.
