oh right on - I didn't realize that a tune with the Access Port would get rid of the CEL. I just got an '08 MCS a few months ago, so I'm still learning.

Well therein lies the problem...

Those springs are essential to the design, so it can "flex"

Without them it cant really flex any direction, which is not a good situation and you'll run into bigger problems.

Yeah. I know what the springs are for. But I still don't think they were gonna do anything in all honesty. And yeah no CEL. Idk if it would throw one even if it wasn't tuned... The 2nd O2 sensor mount is spaced up really high, doesn't that trick the sensor? Maybe I'm wrong but I know it wasn't extended for no reason.

Promise to do this video soon. The HD goPro has Audio right? I get mine today. And I'll try to get a friend to make one with me.

Oh and its fast, this was on a "private property" cough cough.
Raced a 2004 STI. His has a cobb tune, 3" catless Perrin exhaust, intake, and a few other things. raced from a 30 roll and I actually had a car length on him up to 90 MPh. My fourth gear seemed like poop... Hmm. Fifth gear seemed to pull harder in all honesty.

And I realized taking out the springs prolly isn't a problem since the exhaust is only bolted to the turbo. Everything else is rubber hangers. This exhaust doesn't utalize the lower Downpipe mount

Stock exhaust is 2.19"-2.22" I believe. Whatever the diameter, its smaller than 2.25". Regardless, there is no downside to going 2.25" catless vs a 3" dual catted. The point of restriction is not the pipe diameter, its the bottleneck the cat causes. 3" is huge on our cars, theres plenty of argument on it here, and thats my opinion. Seeing stg3 B5s4's make 525awhp on 2.5" exhaust with k04/rs6 hybrid turbos, I know our little 1.6's won't breathe close to enough to be restricted by a 2.25 vs 3" exhaust. Thats saying the flowrate of the engines exhaust gasses, WITH the restriction point of the tubine exhaust flange, is able to fill up and be slowed down due to a cross section of a 2.25" diameter pipe. If you run the fluid flow analysis, i'd bet it wouldn't be close compared to what flow a cat reduces.

Omg someone who agrees with me?!?! Thank the lord lol. I wouldn't be surprised if my Dyno run in the spring isn't better than Altas dyno reports honestly.
