Downpipe install problem- please help!

so i was installing my riss racing catless downpipe and after i got everything put back together, i fired up the car and got a huge exhaust leak between the turbo and the downpipe. At first i assumed that i didnt tighten the pipe down enough so i really cranked down on the screws....well turns out one of them was cross threaded and me screwing it in further completely destroyed it. Does anyone know where i can get a replacement bolt and nut for this? Also do I absolutely need a new gasket or can i use the oem one? thanks NAM!

Hope you cross threaded the bolt and not the turbo

no, it was definitely the bolt. i was able to unscrew the nut/bolt assembly completely fine since the nut was essentially fused with the bolt.

Did you see messed up threading on the bolt? If so, did you try to screw one of the other ones in there just encase? Dealership will have what you are looking for. If it was the turbo that got stripped you can retap it yourself or have someone else do it. Just mark down the size that you use so that you can replace anything just encase.

Also you can check on realoem.com and find the size bolt if its a generic one. I did this to find the bolt for the diverter valve after dropping one into the bay. Then got it for .37 @ home depot vs $10 at the dealer.

yeah, ive gotta run up to the dealer today for something else so while im up there ill ask about it but if they try and sell me a bolt for $10 it looks like ill be taking a trip to home depot as well. but do any of you guys have a downpipe installed? if so did you need a new gasket for it or did the oem one work fine?

New gasket, it is not something you want to leak.

yeah, i went ahead and ordered a new nut, bolt, and gasket from the dealer today just to be safe. it set me back $25 for all three.
