my 04 mcS 6 speed broke and it needs replacing.
i was thinking about getting the 05 6 speed.
is it a perfect fit?

 

Yeah its the same, you might want to consider Helix's set of gears too as well as a limited slip (if you dont already have one)

The transmissions are interchangeable.
The ratios on the 05 trans. are closer in 1st & 2nd.
LSD is nice to have.
You can get an OBX for $400.00
Unless you are racing, you don't need the C/R trans. gearbox.

 

Like it was said in the other thread, you will lose the cruise control due to the different gearing. And the only gear that will have cruise control will be 3rd. I would definitely recommend an LSD too, it just adds to the handling aspect of the MINI even more.

 

Mounts up just fine. And I'll echo the earlier comments throw in an lsd.
