Jan,

Prob not the most appropriate place to post... but, my mini's back at the dealership for another timing chain ticking problem... aka they have to reflash the ecu with the latest firmware. To the best of my assumptions, this means I won't have matching stock ecu codes to reflash my hi-boost tune file i have now back on to it.

Is the process to "reset" my dimsport tool via the reset function on the tool,
re-download the stock ecu code, and e-mail it to you for editing again?

I'd be safe to assume that the latest ecu soft/firmware they're putting on WON'T be equivalent to that of the 2011's that are currently un-tunable, correct (mines a '08)? I'm not sure if the 2011's are a software or hardware issue, but regardless.

HOLY CRAP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Not only did I ride w/ Mark this morning, but I also drove the 'Crush. Keep in mind I went from a Justa to my S in Dec. I thought I had something - until now. I KNEW this would happen - drive Mark's car w/ Jan's tune, and now I don't even get excited about MY car anymore!!

Jan, PLEASE get those codes cracked. Mark gave me the dime bag for free and now I need more - and I need it NOW!!!!!!

This tune will make you feel like someone is trying to push your eyes into the back of your skull - in EVERY GEAR!

hahaha this post is full of lol! awesome!
I left my car at the dealer on saturday, and had an option of an auto brown non-s convertible or an auto black s coupe, wouldn't have gotten the s if i didn't ask for it, haha. Regardless, driving this thing makes me forget how "slow" a stock S is now, it really is a HUGE difference. I mean, you get used to the power from the tune and supporting mods, and suddenly you go back to stock and you have a new love for your modded/tuned mini even more.

Jan, what do you think about 91 octane fuel and running the tune? I just switched to 91 from 95 and without the tune the car is running much better than with the 95 but wanted to ask you before I really ran the tune with it.

Solid like stock.... as I mentioned before, very smooth., very much like stock, just stronger.

Jan fixed my idle once, but it still is a little bouncy. Hopefully, his future updates will fix the problem.

It's gotta be octane. 91 RON would be something like 87 octane and i don't think I've even seen an octane rating that low over here. On base all I've seen is 95 and 98 RON.

jan-
two questions as i get ready to purchase an AP- the last tune orangecrush received from you (that started this thread): (1) is that same tune available on the AP or only the dimsport, and (2) can one get it pre-installed from you on the AP or only at one of your dyno-tuning sessions?

Esso RON 98 is AKI 95, The Esso RON 95 is AKI 91.

I was running AKI 95 and now run the 91 with great results.. By the way, avoid the AAFES pumps.. They do not filter their tanks like Esso does nor do they ever clean them.

Would love to sign up...just waiting to hear a price on what a tune costs. I already have the AP...so what does the tune/dyno time cost?
